A lamp inspired from an Indonesian Spice grinder - the Ulekan.
It takes various elements to create a single spice. In this lamp, the moving, grinding gesture triggers the light to turn on.
The movement of grinding the spice is reflected as ‘collecting’ the light by turning the pestle, while the shell slowly illuminates through its "parang" motives, the Indonesian traditional batik pattern.
Selected to exhibit in Ventura Lambrate Projects for Salone Del Mobile 2014.
